WHAT IS ISO 9001 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?

In order to ensure that the work of a company towards its customers is appreciated, it must act within the framework of certain rules and adhere to these rules. It helps to deliver the product to the customer correctly, to provide technical support after delivery, to provide the necessary support in case of failure, not to delay the work in cases where it needs to be changed, and to keep the customers satisfied. However, it would be a little difficult for a company to evaluate these on its own and make a decision. Although CEOs or consultants are employed in large companies, it is impossible to take and implement new and different decisions to satisfy each customer separately. Instead, it is much more important and easier for companies to follow some standard rules and act in accordance with a set of rules that both the customer will accept and the company will not force. The International Standards Organization, which was established jointly by one hundred member countries in Geneva, has determined some rules for each company to ensure customer satisfaction. These are grouped under the name of ISO and divided into different classes. ISO 9000 is a title that collects the rules that a company must comply with in general. This title examines everything from the company’s financial management to personnel management. ISO 9001, on the other hand, is considered as a title that includes decisions that need to be taken and implemented entirely for customers. The determined rules must be followed by all certificate holders and it is requested that the productions be made according to these rules.

WHY ISO 9001?

Today’s companies are able to produce more easily and market their production in world markets. Important factors such as the convergence of borders and the increase in production power enable companies to expand into larger areas. In today’s world, where great steps are taken in terms of technology and great developments, new developments are experienced every day and production can be made in more and more different ways. This situation necessitated the introduction of certain rules. The fact that each company produces within the framework of the rules determined by itself and implements the decisions taken in meetings in order to ensure customer satisfaction can satisfy the customers in one place and draw the reaction of the customer in another place. However, the productions made at an international standard level and the support given to the products do not attract any reaction from the customers, because these rules are the same all over the world and require treating customers equally. This is perhaps the biggest advantage of companies that have ISO 9001 certificate. Instead of applying a separate policy for each customer, the application of the rules determined by the International Standards Organization is extremely beneficial for the future of the company and for the satisfaction of its customers. ISO, which has been implemented since 1987, is a system accepted all over the world and is a feature sought by customers. In other words, it is a collection of rules that should be given importance for an operator who has just established his company.
